Letter From The President

Dear delegates,

It is a great honor to be with you in the San Francisco Conference II as your Dais. It is a pleasure to welcome you to our esteemed committee for this year's conference! We are thrilled to have you join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking and enlightening experience.

The Second San Francisco Conference is a crisis committee focused on mending what would have been an unsuccessful first Conference, promoting international diplomacy, multilateral peaceful resolutions, and the formalization of the United Nations Charter. The committee will focus on the repercussions caused by the first conference, including the possibilities of deep distrust among major powers and regional conflicts without international mediation.

As we embark on this journey together, I encourage you to be proactive in your preparation, to engage in fruitful debate, and to uphold the principles of diplomacy and mutual respect that are the hallmark of the United Nations. Remember that, as delegates, you are not only representing your respective countries but also contributing to greater global dialogue. As your Dais, we will guide you and help you with any concerns or inquiries. Please contact us before the conference so that we can help you develop your best work for the committee. Do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions while researching the topic, and we will do our best to help you resolve them.

Once again, welcome to the San Francisco Conference II! This guide will serve as a tool for you to understand the topic. We are confident that your passion, knowledge, and dedication will make this committee a resounding success. Together, let us strive to make a positive impact on the world.

Sincerely,

Gabriella Sankar Lozano

Topic: What if, following the 1945 San Francisco Conference, things had gone wrong? The failure to sign the United Nations Charter prevents the establishment of a multilateral peace system, unleashing a new wave of military alliances, deep distrust among major powers, and regional conflicts without international mediation. These escalating crises have prompted the convocation of a Second San Francisco Conference.
